Victor Dotres was born and raised in Miami Lakes and is the son of Cuban immigrants. After graduating from High school, Victor moved to Gainesville and during the summer of 2000, Victor became the first in his family to earn his Bachelor's of Fine Arts from the University of Florida. He began his teaching career with Collier County Schools in 2001 and has been fortunate to have taught every grade level, K-12. Victor has also served as the chair and member of numerous committees and curriculum writing teams.
Victor's parents instilled in him and his two brothers a deep sense of responsibility to help others. His mother taught him and his brothers at an early age, the virtues of compassion and hard work through her lifetime of service in the community. Victor's father bravely served in the Vietnam War as a helicopter gunner and flew hundreds of missions over enemy territory. Victor has an unlimited level of respect and gratitude for our troops who served and who are currently serving to defend our great country.
Throughout his life, Victor has been committed to his community and dedicated to serving others as a teacher, a volunteer, and as a coach. He is a 2nd Degree Knights of Columbus member, Former Red Cross Disaster Services Volunteer and a Member of the United States of America Humane Society. He was also fortunate to be the head coach of both the Corkscrew Middle School and Palmetto Ridge High School Soccer teams. In his free time, Victor enjoys spending time with his family, reading, playing golf, jogging and following his Miami Dolphins.
